《★~ My 2024 Wish List ~★ 》 // ☆ Checklist ☆ \\ ☐ Earflap Hat ☐ Shoulder-less Top ☐ Long Coat ☐ High-Neck Jacket ☐ Knee-High Boots ☐ Ballet Flats with Straps ☐ Platform Shoes ☐ Combat Boots ☐ Lacy Choker ☑ Purse/Bag - { Found 04/09 at a Recyclerie } // ☆ Hats ☆ \\ The perfect winter hat ~ I always dreamed of this kind of earflap-tassel combo hat but could never come across one in either good condition or made from good quality materials. Where I'm living right now does not get that cold anyway so there's no rush. // ☆ Tops ☆ \\ Shoulder-less long sleeve ~ These were in every big-name shop this
spring but I don't know where I was. Sleeping. Or broke. I could
probably concoct one myself. // ☆ Outerwear ☆ \\ Long coat ~ I recently found my dream short jacket at a brocante so I'm not looking for anything fitted unless I come across a leather jacket that zips up high, like a turtleneck. If I spot any plain and long black coats though, I'd love to get one. People say you shouldn't wear stuff that long if you're short and I am short but fuck that stupid rule. Turtleneck-high zipper jacket ~ It does not have to be leather or black but those would be my preferred options. // ☆ Dresses ☆ \\ No need for more dresses at the moment. I always find pretty and cheap options at the thrift store so I'm not looking for anything. // ☆ Bottoms ☆ \\ Same with pants and skirts. I have a good selection of jeans which I am happy with. // ☆ Shoes ☆ \\ Knee-high boots ~ My biggest fashion dream of all is some long boots in a brown or black. I have a very fat calf so sadly it's not easy to find a good fit but I am looking. Ballet flats with straps ~ Looked for these fuckers all summer, couldn't find good ones anywhere. Still searching. Platform anything ~ I really like platforms and am less excited about heels. So, I would love to own a platform sneaker or mary jane. Combat boots ~ It's a staple and my old ones fell apart. I'm thinking of maybe spending a little cash and getting real Doc Martens. // ☆ Other ☆ \\ Delicate choker ~ I bought my sister one with another set of necklaces and now I really want one too. A black bag ~ I would like to own a girly and sassy bag for when I want something a little more elegant though I love my Oxbow canvas bag. Labels: 2024

Hey! Finnymemo now has a new banner and button. I'm likely to change these over time but this is the current look of the blog. I don't have names for the pixel dolls featured on my banner but let's call them Ballerina Girl and Sassy Girl for now. Will there be more who join their entourage? Link me with these if you feel like it: Also, this is my address in case you want to keep up with my blog via your RSS reader: https://finnymemo.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default. Labels: 2024

No luck at the brocante today. The clothes were sparse and too modern. I haven't been thrifting that long but I still remember when there was much less Shein everywhere. Now with easy online shopping at less than good retailers all the modern fast fashion is bunched up with actual old-school items from the 2000s. It's a shame. I saw a real pretty prom-like or night out dress but wasn't sure about the colour or the size so I didn't get it. I am on the look out for knee-high boots, ballet flats with straps, and a cool handbag. Sadly, everything was either too small or not my taste. I feel like I may have to buy these first hand because I'd rather be certain about the fit and quality and also some brands do have a few items in my taste. I did find myself a very cute little box-bag, it looks tropical and is probably meant for toiletries. I'm not sure what I'm gonna use it for yet, maybe my markers? I am one step closer to my surf crush dream though. Poser! I also found my sister a small Hello Kitty figure. She basically gave me an order to buy anything Hello Kitty or My Littlest Petshop related, so I am doing my duty. Roger roger. Maybe I am getting a fatigue from so many brocantes but this one really burnt me out even though it wasn't super big. I guess I'm excited for my little recyclerie to finally open up after the summer. As promised, er, late, I went back to the thrift store. I was actually uninterested in the stuff I saw earlier but instead found a new item that must have been recently donated. I can't stick to a particular style and am always flip-flopping between a few favourites. Most of the time I like casual 2000s gothic styles, general grunge, fairy-elements, and surf crush. So when I saw a surfer girl skirt in a cute pastel pink it was like all my past brainstorming came around. I think I'm still not brave enough to test out vivid pinks but this kind of lovely pastel with a darker tone in the little sewn flower is perfect. I also love the surfer style even though I've surfed like maybe twice. Poser, I know. My sister also picked up some cute things for herself. We decided to do a photoshoot on Monday because it's way too hot to do make up this weekend. Labels: 2024, thrift find

Flip Through: Kilala Issue 2 Pink! The infrequent colour of my closet, but something about it still draws me in. I mean, look at the theme of this blog! It's so pink and for no good reason too. I do actually have a few pink pieces but never had any ideas about styling them because I'm usually someone who prefers monochromatic outfits. In my pursuit of inspiration I decided to consult a magazine that I never heard of before but discovered on the web archive. According to Zippy's blog, Kilala is a hime gyaru magazine that had an incredibly short run of just 2 issues in 2008. It's pink diamond-encrusted cover called out to me. You can read the entire second issue here. The cover of Kilala Issue 2, 2008. I would love almost every item on this page, but I am especially drawn to the black skirt, the beige and red one above it, and the orange-cream polka dress. I am big fan of peasant skirts that are long! I used to have one in red that I miss a lot. Right now I have a very gentle blue one. The green one on this page is an absolute dream. The flannel dress is also so cute and up my alley. Though this is not a make up blog, I cannot resist any themed entries that used to be regulars in 2000s magazines. Here we have make up styles inspired by Disney princesses. Cinderella's make up is probably my favorite because I love a droopy, doe-eyed look. Snow White is more girly and fun. Ariel's look has even more vibrant colours and very dynamic eyelashes. A mermaid can't be plain or minimalist so I think this look works great. Beauty from Beauty and The Beast is looking more sophisticated and regal. I think Jasmine has the darkest eye shadow colours from the bunch which makes the look edgy, I like that. I love the pinstripe dress on the girl in right upper corner. The shoes with the purple band beside her are also amazing. I would love a dainty little bag or purse like the one in the bottom left corner. Kilala also shows us some pics of cool gyaru girls and their bedrooms. Argh! I could look at a thousand issues of people's rooms. I feel like your space is both a private and performative art piece that shows your interests, passions, and comforts. It's always a great glimpse into other people's styles. Simple but plentiful with romantic pieces such as the vanity, the curtains, and the lamp table. A little messier is more my style. I love the combo of the pink and white with the light wooden floor. Even her suitcase is full of frills and lovely colour! The warmest room we have seen so far. The chandelier and her computer nook is too cute. A few more rooms at a quick glance. The more realistic kind it seems haha. A more lolita-esque gyaru look. I do love gingham but a recent purchase of a red gingham dress totally didn't fit me and now I'm sad. Just a cute layout. I wish I could read Japanese so that I could hear from these girls! The 'privet' look with the bob is phenomenal. The first column is my favourite, though the 'faery' look in the second column is gorgeous. Some cute street looks. I especially like the top-most right and top-most left. I usually dislike hot pink but their outfits are making me reconsider... And that's the end of Kilala's second issue. In conclusion, I find that I am actually willing to experiment with richer pinks, though pastels and creams are still my top picks when it comes to pink. I also really like the intensity of black with pink, kind of like in ballet. Tomorrow I will be visiting my local thrift store to see some items I may have missed on my last trip. Hopefully, I will be able to put together some pink numbers before the end of the week. Labels: 2008 fashion, late 00s, magazines, summer
