A-Z 2026 Intro + Masterpost

Hello, fashion folk! Welcome back to the A-Z blogging event on finnymemo. I failed spectacularly last year and there is still time to do that this year but in a vague attempt at fool-proofing, I've picked out a more relaxed task for myself this year. The theme is sort-of 'my closet'. I'll be posting a bit about stuff I've owned, made, thrifted, bought, and found that is currently in my closet. With pics, of course. Mending Monday #3

My fave pair of pajama pants has really started to come undone recently. I've had them since before uni, so from around 2018. They lived through a lot so I really wanted to finally give them some repairs.

As you can see the hems are destroyed: holes and tears! Luckily the pants are quite long so it was possible to totally cut off the ripped portions and have enough for a small seam. I did this on a sewing machine with my mum's help but totally forgot to take pics of the process! So here's sort of how it went.

1.I cut the ripped parts off in a straight line, so the length of each pant leg was the same.

2. I folded the bottom hem twice to make thin seams.

3. I did a temporary stitch to just keep the seam in place and of equal size all around.

4. I took it to the machine and went over the temporary stitch with a proper back-stitch. Then I removed the temporary stitch. Voila!

I also added a very basic patch from the leftover textiles to the butt of the pants where there was a random hole. And so the pants live on, to many more comfy years!

Thrift Finds + More {Jan-Feb 2026}

Best news ever: the thrift store/recyclerie near our house is back open! As usual, they'll be around every Wednesday and Saturday morning. Hurray! In celebration I managed to pick up two things: a cute hoodie and game.

I probably talked about this on the blog already but I have an obsession with surfing brands even though I've surfed like a handful of times in my life. Total poser, I know. But I can't help it, I love the look of old Quicksilver, Roxy, Rip Curl, Oxbow, and Billabong. This Billabong hoodie has such a cute graphic and it's super cozy. The yellow is... kind of a strange choice, I won't lie it looks a bit like someone pissed all over the hoodie. But it still looks cute with the decal so I'll take it.

There was also an assortment of Xbox games, I only picked one to check out it's backwards compatibility. But I'll probably be back for more. 

Otherwise, my mum picked up some boots for me last month. They are so cozy and warm and I love them so much, they were also on a crazy sale. I could never afford Timberlands at their normal price so this was super lucky.

I also found something so cute and nostalgic at the outlet store: a bunch of Tokidoki stationery. For those who don't know, Tokidoki is an all sorts of stuff brand that's famous for it's illustration style (I believe it's what the children call Superflat). It's Japanese-inspired but actually by an Italian designer and it was everywhere when I was a kid. My friend had a small bag with a bunch of Tokidoki illustrations on it that I dreamt of. I was really happy to see they still exist and make cute illustrations, it's maybe sort-of childish but really my style. I got some post-it notes and a small notebook.

I got some flash cards for my brother to write down common verbs with conjugation which is what he's been struggling with most in French.

I also found this mug that resembles a Playstation. It totally sucks as a mug (a square mug?!) but is perfect for my pens: I keep my most frequently used ones in it. 

We've even got a drink review today: a Genki Ramune, Plain Soda flavour. 8/10, very nice and truly plain soda. Not too sweet, no weird after taste. Perhaps a bit boring but it's not called 'Exciting Soda' so I can't complain.
