3 Plaid Outfits~!

Hey, for a fashion blogger I've not posted OOTDs, looks, or anything actually fashion-y in a while. I just feel very little confidence in my styling abilities despite liking fashion a lot. I feel so inspired by all the other bloggers I see here making very cool looks and when I try to make them in my taste I feel like it's totally going nowhere... but then I have to remember that what I like about fashion is not just the beauty but also the practicality. So, maybe the looks I've put together here are kind of basic but they are super wearable, really me, and there is a lot of my favourite: plaid!

Look #1 ~ Going To The Cinema

Top . . . Esprit {Thrifted}

Jorts . . . Stradivarius {Bought New}

Necklace . . . Dolphin Pendant from Thai Aquarium {From Childhood}

Simple Silver Earrings . . . ??? {Bought New}

Black and Turquoise Beaded Bracelets . . . ??? {From Childhood}

Monoi Hair Clips . . . ??? {Bought New}

Bag . . . Ripcurl {Thrifted}

Plain Black Sandals . . .  ??? {Bought New}

We went to see the new Mandalorian movie (it sucked) and I decided to get a little dressed up for it. Very vaguely inspired by the original blue Mandalore colours. I was waiting ages to wear this top out. Also I had to take all the pics in my sister's room because she has a big mirror, don't mind all her paraphernalia haha.

 I got this necklace when I was like 12 at what I believe was Sea Life Bangkok.

Terrible make up is terrible and smudged but ah, well. I don't use foundation so that's why you can see all my scary pores and scabs! Did an unusual liner style this time, with a down-turned wing. Eye shadow in blue and glimmer white with a brown mascara. Just a plain lip balm for the lips.

The hair accessory of choice were these cute little monoi clips, I should have probably tried for a better photo.

And now, onto look number two...

Look #2 ~ Outdoor Dinner Party

Top . . . Camaïeu {Thrifted}

Denim Skirt . . . Camaïeu {Thrifted}

Green Glass Heart Necklace . . . ??? {Bought New}

Hoop Silver Earrings . . . ??? {Bought New}

Pink Hibiscus Hair Crab . . . ??? {Bought New}

Bag . . . ??? {Thrifted}

Plain Black Sandals . . .  ??? {Bought New}

Our family friends invited us for a BBQ at their house. It was a super hot day so I opted for some shorter stuff. I think the silhouette of this look is a little wonky but I still liked it a lot.

Did some fake lashes with my brown liner but was in such a rush that they came out super crooked. I did finally use the green eye shadow palette that I got and I really love the colour. I also put my hair up with my new hair crab, it's so pretty.

Tried to take some fashion shots with my sister outside, not sure if they turned out like I hoped haha.

Next, look number three...

Look #3 ~ Job Fair

Top . . . Gemo {Thrifted}

White Undershirt - Kiabi {Gift}

Jeans . . . Kiabi {Bought New}

Simple Silver Earrings . . . ??? {Bought New}

Heart Locket Necklace . . . ??? {Bought New}

Hoop Silver Earrings . . . ??? {Bought New}

Canvas Converse Bag . . . Converse {Thrifted}

Blue Converse . . .  Converse {Thrifted}

So, had a job fair, it didn;t last very long but I did want to be comfy in case. It was a colder day, hence the undershirt. I think the hairstyle of the day was pretty cute. I was trying to do something Rikki from H2O inspired. The new converse bag I picked up is also so good, it's insanely big and perfect for keeping documents. Don't know what kinda skater would need to haul documents around but it works.

No make up for this look. I don't wear make up daily or to work so didn't bother with it this time either.

Brought my good luck Sugawara folder, a friend gifted it to me in high school and ever since I always take it to important meetings. Left the CVs marinating in there too.

And that's three plaid-centric outfits. I don't know what it is about plaid but it makes me very happy. Especially in fun colours. Is there an outfit of the three that you liked best? Should I give up styling and fashion forever? Let me know in the comments.

Thrift Finds {May-June}

Had a chance to stop by some recycleries after work in the past few months and I've found some great stuff. There was also a brocante/flea market in town, though it was a little sparse there were quite a few good finds.

First, I picked up a lotta DVDs.

Ridley Scott's Kingdom Of Heaven is a pretty great historical epic. If you like some beautiful set pieces and a relatively grounded plot for the scale of the movie, this is a great pick. I usually find Orlando Bloom quite wooden but he kind of holds his own in this one despite being across some much stronger actors.

Um, this movie is a literal piece of shit. Like, for real. But yeah, Josh Hartnett. The collection will be complete... I guess if you just turn the sound off completely and throw on a good trip hop album this is a halfway decent music video as there's some pretty good interior design.

I haven't seen the remake but I did find the original with Stellan Skarsgard deeply off putting in a good way. Plus, Al Pacino!

I watched Constantine for the first time this year and it is a visually amazing movie. I wish they'd make more edgy movies like this... and yeah, Rachel Weisz!

I don't love Terminal but my mum and brother do. Well, I guess it's one of the very few Tom Hanks movies I don't mind re-watching. There's a baby Diego Luna in it too.

A very, very good concept with a poor execution. It's a real shame that the story is spread so thin and doesn't live up to the absolute capitalist shithole nightmare that is the world of Elysium. Also featuring Diego Luna.

At the brocante I picked up a huge stack of letter paper for... you know who you are! Anyway, it features a character I often saw as a kid because I had a Belgian friend who had a bunch of this wacky little mouse on all her stationery. Diddle is a very unfortunate name for a children's brand but I guess they were never looking to expand into the English-speaking market so it's no matter.

Back at the recyclerie I saw a small bag with the exact Tokidoki print that my friend had on her bag years ago! I remember because of all the pirate babes and stuff. It's super cute and fits a phone and some other stuff. Basically, when I don't need to carry my usual 50+ items around.

The coolest find is probably this rectangular Converse bag. It's just so cool. It's got pockets all over, a gradient pattern on the front, and... it's just awesome!

I also picked up a very cute tanktop with lacey straps in my favourite apple green.

I was debating getting these but when I tried them on, it was fate! A while ago I had random pics in the footer of my blog and one of them was this page out of Cosmogirl because I was really in love with the boots the model was wearing.

Well, I basically found them (not really ahah, but it's more that I was looking for the silhouette of the boot)... these are authentic biker boots and they are a little beat up but they fit great and have that lose form that I was looking for. A perfect rounded toe. Just a totally lucky find.

Now, for the weirdest find... sometime last year I took a deep-dive into the world of doll repaints. I was going to start back when but decided that I really didn't need to get into another hobby especially if I wasn't sure whether it was for me. So I decided if I was still into it in a year I could try it out with some second-hand dolls. Well, I found a Gen 1 Clawdeen and she cost me less than a euro.

She's missing one hand right now and her hair is musty-crusty but that's fine because I'll be re-rooting her anyway. I know I won't be able to finish her in the summer (plus, doing the face in this heat is not the best idea...) but in the autumn I'll get to finishing her. Stay tuned!

And that's all for this thrift season. Summer's coming up, I'm always looking for more movies, music, and consoles so hopefully the next flea markets will have some options.
