2026 Fashion Resolutions & Plans~!

Hello, fashionistas. It's almost the end of a long year and a year that I've been pretty active on this blog which makes me pretty happy. It makes me even happier seeing how many of you dropped by and left me lovely comments (I also love finding new blogs this way). With 2026 coming, I'm making some fashion-specific resolutions and goals, perhaps in order to shop for what I actually need and not for whatever is available.

1. Colourful/patterned high-quality tights

I realized a while ago that one of my favourite ways to spruce up an outfit is to add pattern or colour via tights. It's funny because it's also something I did a lot in the early 2010s, but then thought it was no longer cool... here's another anecdote to wear whatever you like no matter what trends are coming in and out because I'm back to what I liked more than 10 years ago. 

2. Elastic-free underwear

There's gonna be a lot of underwear talk, I won't lie. But comfort goes hand in hand with fashion! I'm the kind of person who keeps, cleans, and repairs underwear for years. One of my favourite pairs is a Uniqlo purchase with no elastic, I've had it literally since high school! They are beginning to come apart in a lot of places but I'm still sewing them together. However, they are the only pair of underwear that I feel comfortable wearing during my period. If they go, I'll be in trouble. So I hope I can go get some more, probably also at Uniqlo just because this specific fit really works for me. I dread the possibility that their quality may have dropped drastically in the last decade. 

3. Some good bras

More undergarments! But for real, I somehow lost my basic black bra. Not even in a fun way like leaving it behind after a one-night stand. It's just gone! In my own damn house. So I would really love the have one black bra and one which is strapless. It's also hard to find the type of bras I prefer in France. First of all, very small or very large sizes. Also, so much bras with shitty metal wires and no pad. No offense to anyone who likes them but why? Do you not love your titties?! Sorry... so yeah, I'm looking for stuff that's a sport's bra/basic bra hybrid.

4. Knee-high boots

This is my dream for many years now... however I keep running into the issue that being both fat and short is like kryptonite for finding good, tall boots. I will probably resort to thrifting them somewhere.

5. Flats

My mum gave me a cute pair of flats she owned but didn't wear so that's one down! I'd love to have maybe three pairs to match my different outfits when spring comes. 

6. Some long-lasting sneakers

I don't own any sports or hiking shoes at the moment which is pretty bad. I'd like one pair that will last me a while, I'm kind of sick of buying 20 euro sneakers that just die within a year but I can't exactly afford anything more expensive. I'll probably wait until the outlet sales in January. 

7. Complete my closet database

Yep, it's time! I want to organize and photograph my entire closet. Then have a big database for fun and for this blog.

8. Do all 26 days of A-Z blogging in April

I failed big time this year but no matter, I'm going to make another attempt in 2026 and with something planned way ahead. And something a little simpler than my previous research-heavy project. 

9. New glasses 

Not totally a fashion thing, more like a life thing. I've already superglued my current pair twice, not to mention it's a pair I got in 2020 which means the prescription could very well be outdated. My nearsightedness is genetic but one eye has been progressively worsening too so it's probably time for an update. 

10. Make a very fun but simple Halloween costume

This year's Halloween was fun but kind of last-minute. I'd really love to do a cosplay style costume for 2026. Probably something from a game or a movie, like Ellis from L4D2 or Luke Skywalker. I would love to do an Ahsoka cosplay but that's just way too much work.

Thrift Finds + Comfy OOTD~!

Greetings... we have a somewhat special post today. I'm taking you on a small thrifting journey with me, a sort of play-by-play of my time at a thrift store. Except I forgot to take pictures of the actual thrift store... which is a shame because it was actually kind of a funny place: it had the main area of normal racks than it had a sort of indoor bazaar style set of booths along the perimeter of the store dedicated to specific things: jeans, tacky ballgowns, sportswear, everything camo, etc. When I return I will capture some pics of the place. First of all, I dressed comfortably for the day:

So, today I'll be showing you both the finds that I bought AND the rejects. Because a good thrift trip is all about digging and finding your pieces through trial and error. You don't have to buy everything you sort-of liked or even really liked and you don't have to buy something just because it fit you (this is especially true for plus-size folk such as myself, we often feel like nothing fits us so we buy the first thing that does). I used to make that mistake a lot and sometimes probably still do but I'm trying to always be practical-first, aesthetic-after. In the end, the clothes complement you, you don't complement the clothes, you're a whole entire person!

We arrived at about 2PM and I usually start with the tops. I immediately found 3 items that were very cute so I went to try them on. I was lucky right at the start, I tried on this little cold shoulder ESPRIT top. You guys already know it: it's flannel and an old ESPRIT, it's made for me. It fit amazing and I felt really comfy in it. It's totally a spring piece though so I doubt I'll get much wear out of it before March. Also excuse the red light on everything, the changing room curtain was practically emitting this colour so all the pics are much redder than they are.

Second I found a super cute vintage-style top in a bright pink with small polka dots from Cecilia Classics. I love small, ordered polka dots! However, the puff of the sleeve was so strange and didn't even out no matter what I did so I thought it would be best to leave it be before I bought it and then stayed annoyed at the sleeves.

Next was a long-sleeve brown shirt that I was intrigued by because it was from Banana Moon. I have another top of theirs in blue with a beautiful moon drawing on the back that I love. It was really pretty but felt so tight in the shoulders that I decided it wasn't for me.

 

The next one was a struggle. It was a little sweater-style top from RBD (not sure if that's the brand name) in an apple green that I love. But it just didn't sit exactly how I wanted and though it was hard I had to put it back on the rack. Good bye, gorgeous...

 

That was my first selection, I am not one of those people that can walk the whole store and go to the dressing room with lots of things: I need to go in sessions. How do you go about thrifting? Do you do a single trip through the store and then to the changing room or do you go multiple times?

On my second round I checked out the dresses but had no success. In fact I grabbed some that looked my size and some were even Ls but they did not fit me at ALL! Was having a moment I guess ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵).

Here are the culprits! After that I browsed some more and found two items that were just amazing. A pleated skirt from Promod and a night dress from Etam. 

This skirt fit so good and it looked so cool, it feels very scholarly and good for the season. It had a bit of a fraying leather-y strip but it's easy to peel away so I wasn't bothered. I also feel like the colours of the pattern are quite different from more popular pleated skirts so I was happy with that too.

This floral print and gentle lace is so beautiful. I know it's a night dress and it's super sheer but I don't care I'll wear it like a regular dress!

I also tried out two more skirts: the long black one sat kind of awkwardly and the denim one had no real buttons, just an elastic waistband. Ew! I prefer real buttons and zippers...

Right before we left the shop I found another thing that was also so perfect for me. A dirty-gold pendant necklace in the shape of a hand mirror with a little black cat on it. It's so cute and as a tuxedo cat owner and enthusiast it was perfect.

Here's all the stuff I did buy. It ended up being about 14-ish euros in total which is pretty expensive for how much I would usually spend on 4 items at a recyclerie but it's honestly still very affordable.

It was a worthwhile spot for sure. A nice little bonus was that there was zero, Z-E-R-O, SHEIN. Not one thing! There was not much fast fashion stuff at all which is always a relief. I'm sure any frequent thrift-shoppers can relate, dodging the cheap polyester stuff is bothersome.

Later in the following week my mum found the coolest Guess watch with a studded wristband for literally only 3 euros! It needs a new battery but otherwise it's in almost pristine condition and looks so cool!

Today I dropped by our outlet store again to find some small gifts for Maria (a friend from class) in case I don't see her before Christmas. I got her a candle, a bracelet, and some washi tapes. I also found some useful and cute things for myself.

First, not pretty to look at but a very cheap AV cable for the TV we got for free. I'm trying to hook it up to my Hi-Fi/DVD hybrid. It gave me a lot of trouble and I only half-way got it to work, more on that on Sunday on my main blog.

I also found this super cute set of small notebooks. Gorgeous art, I miss notebooks with very creative covers. This one also has a very strange textured back cover! They are from Djeco, probably one of the last remaining companies with a cute and unique website.

Got a compilation of Staind's singles. Its Been A While and So Far Away are really my guilty pleasures so for 1 euro it was worth it. Can't say I'm a Staind fan but we'll see how the other singles fare.

I got a set of Christmas cards and envelopes to send out to friends with my fave ugly-cute little bitch on it, that Gorjuss girlie. 

Felt like I got exactly what I needed this month, not buying stuff that I found very cute but still had doubts about. Only things I knew I'd be wearing for sure. In general, as soon as it got properly cold I've finally started dressing up a little more. I also haven't felt this disconnected from current trends since forever, feels good. In the world of fashion, I'm feeling pretty content.
